The Dental Practice of Dr. Nate Bourassa
Most people dread going to the dentist, unless they have found a dentist in Coeur d’Alene that is compassionate and gentle. Dr. Nate Bourassa at Artisan Dental in Coeur d’Alene will gently diagnose and perform a wide range of dental procedures including, but not limited to:
DENTAL IMPLANTS
Instead of referring you, the patient, out for the implant, Dr. Nate Bourassa at Artisan Dental will do your implant from start to finish. Some complex cases will always be better performed by a specialist, but the majority of implants are straight forward. Dental implants are an excellent permanent solution for replacing anywhere from a single tooth to all of your teeth. They simply provide an attachment point and are one of the most successful treatment options available for doing so. Dental implants can be used to anchor a crown or bridge as well as dentures, and provide for more security and comfort then any or the removable options. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Bourassa at Artisan Dental to see if you are a good candidate for a dental implant.
ROOT CANAL THERAPY
When the tissue within the tooth is diseased or injured, the tooth tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth can get infected and it will abscess. In some cases this can be very painful. When a tooth is infected there are only two options, perform a root canal on it, or you would need to have it extracted. With Root Canal Therapy, the decaying tissue is removed and the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Many dentists do not like to do root canals and often refer the procedure out to an Endodontist. However, Dr Nate does the majority of his own root canals saving patients money and time spent in pain waiting on a specialist. In the event that a specialist does need to be involved there is one conveniently located upstairs in the same building. Afterward a crown is often recommended to be placed over the tooth to help strengthen it and seal out future problems with recurring decay.
FILLINGS
Modern dentistry has allowed us the pleasure of combining beauty as well as strength when filling teeth. Artisan Dental in Coeur d’Alene takes pride in restoring teeth to their original strength and appearance with composite resins and ceramics. As an artist I have the ability to use composite to not only restore broken down teeth to their original condition, but I can also use it to shape other teeth without the need for braces.
BRIDGES
A bridge is a fixed prosthesis, which means it uses the surrounding teeth to permanently anchor in the replacement tooth/teeth. This provides functionality, strengthens the remaining teeth, and is an esthetically pleasing way of restoring your smile. Dr Nathan Bourassa recommends these for people who do not want to take something in and out of their mouths. As with the dental crowns, Artisan Dental uses the best labs to produce your prosthesis to ensure a successful long-term result.
CROWNS
Dental crowns are restorations to restore a badly broken down or decayed tooth. This is not just a treatment for dental restoration, it is also an esthetic correction. Crowns seal out future decay and strengthen the whole of the tooth. Whether it is a porcelain crown used to repair years of wear and tear on your front teeth, or the need to reinforce a broken tooth, at Artisan Dental we can help. Many patients are unaware of the wide variety of crown materials and the difference in quality that different labs deliver. At Artisan dental we have the ability to make same day crowns on the very same machines that the labs use. This technology is much better then the cerec crowns and same day crown machines that other dentists use. Having the ability to translate what I see in the mouth directly into the design of the crown gives me the ability to ensure that the restoration turns out exactly how I want it too. While the same day crowns are handy in larger and more complex cases we still prefer to use a dental lab that specializes in the construction of crowns. We use the best local lab and stand behind our crowns for five years.
